Butchery Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced leader who may have a Butchery and/or Fresh Foods background.

The Role:

• Have end to end ownership & management of the Butchery department including buying, price integrity, rostering, food safety, stock management.
• Ensure all product meets the highest standards, is fresh and displayed attractively for our customers.
• Search constantly for areas to improve our butchery operations, productivity, and efficiency.
• Ensure all meat displayed in the case is correctly trayed, wrapped, and labelled.
• Lead and inspire a team of butchery assistants.
• Deliver on financial performance targets including budgets, wage percentages and sales forecasting.

• Be part of the leadership team from day 1, building culture and helping shape how the store runs.
• Ongoing support to grow your skills in leadership and operations, working with supportive leaders
• Make real decisions at store level, with autonomy to tailor your department to our community's needs
• Prove yourself in a store known for its people development and career opportunities
• Be part of a store striving to be here for the Whanganui community by being customer driven in everything we do

What we're looking for:

• You'll have a passion for butchery and a good eye for quality and presentation.
• Qualified Butcher or Fresh Foods experience
• Solid understanding of how to drive a butchery department.
• Financially savvy. Strong knowledge of SAP
• Great people skills and ability to lead a small team.
• Able to strictly follow our Food Safety and Health and Safety program.
• Reliable, self-motivated and be a good team player.
• Proven customer service experience.
