  • s Hospital is anacute service providing secondary/tertiary care to newborn babies bornprematurely or with surgical, congenital and medical complications followingbirth.
We are a 44 bedded unit compromised of 12 intensive care and 32 specialcare cot
  • s and our catchment area is approximately 20,000 square kilometres ofthe South Island.About youRegistered Nurse with neonatal experience Lactation Consultant qualification essentialRecent experience of caring for preterm and sick newborn infantsRelevant recent proven experience in breastfeeding management and education and specialised knowledge of lactation Experience in provision of education programmesDemonstrated clinical teaching skillsCommitment to breastfeeding, BFHI and the WHO International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and subsequent, relevant WHA resolutionsProven consultation, communication, computer literacy and liaison skillsCan work well within a multidisciplinary team An understanding of cultural issues as they relate to women
