Structural and Strengthening steel Site Installer

This is an exciting opportunity to join Welding and Engineering Structural Steel Limited as a Structural and Strengthening Steel Site Installer. In this full-time role, you will be based in Christchurch Central Canterbury, responsible for the on-site installation of structural and strengthening steel components for a variety of projects.

• Safely and efficiently install structural steel and strengthening components on construction sites
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate installation
• Collaborate with the project team to coordinate the timing and sequencing of steel deliveries and installations
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail to meet quality and safety requirements
• Operate equipment such as mobile cranes. (Although training can be provided)
• Identify and report any issues or challenges encountered during the installation process
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative work culture focused on safety and continuous improvement

• Proven experience as a Structural and Strengthening Steel Site Installer, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction methods
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as experience operating equipment such as mobile cranes (although training can be provided).
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve installation challenges
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with project stakeholders
• Current driver's licence and the ability to travel to various construction sites
• Flexibility in working away from Canterbury on a week to week basis.
