Diesel Field Service Mechanic - Pumpsets
- Travel nation-wide, supporting our clients with installation, commissioning, servicing and general maintenance of pumpsets.
- Service and overhaul pumpsets comprising pumps, diesel engines, electric motors and their controls, primarily in the Fire Protection industry.
- Service work is done all over New Zealand and there will be extensive travel primarily in the North Island.
- Provide input in our drive to continually improve our products and documentation.

Pumpset Technology is an expert team of engineers, electrical and mechanical staff. We have clients throughout New Zealand, and provide pumping solutions, equipment and services to supply water to the fire protection, snowmaking and irrigation industries.
We are a growing business. We have branches in Auckland and Queenstown, a satellite branch in Wellington, and are growing in the regions. Most of the engineering work takes place at our Auckland site in Penrose. Both electrical and mechanical installation and servicing of pumpsets is nationwide.

WHAT THIS ROLE OFFERS

Service work is done all over New Zealand and there will be extensive travel primarily in the North Island.
SALARY- Pay will be commensurate with your experience.
- Expected to be $35.00 to $45.00 per hour dependent on skills and experience.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who is reliable, pitches in to help others in the team and who takes pride in their work, with a “do it once and do it right” approach. You will be able to learn new processes and then implement them, and think outside the square.
You must have had experience with:
- 3+ years experience working with diesel machinery e.g. as a diesel mechanic and/or fitter, or marine engineer.
- Being able to work autonomously, and self-motivated.
- Working from a service vehicle in various locations and travelling between sites.
- Experience servicing and repairing rotating machinery.
- Being familiar with following processes, and have a great safety track record.
- Providing actionable feedback and maintaining site records.
- Computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite. Along with the basic suite, you will use Planner and Teams.
You will ideally have had experience with:
- Experience within the Fire protection (sprinkler/alarms) and/or water supply industries.
- Experience servicing and repairing pumps and/or compressors .
- Extensive travel for work purposes.
- NZ driver's license: A clean Class 1 Full licence. Ideally, you will be licenced to drive a manual vehicle.
- Trade Qualified Diesel Mechanic.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- You will be physically fit (this is a standing job that requires regular lifting)
- A drive to learn and be the best at what you do.
- Friendly team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Punctual and well-organised, with good forward planning and time-management skills.
