Sports Turf Technician -Irrigation, Hybrid & Renos
Full-time | Based in Plimmerton with some travel required
Mexted Sports Turf is a leading sports turf company with a long history of delivering top quality service to our clients in a friendly team environment.
We're on the lookout for a self-motivated, practical Sports Turf Technician preferably with knowledge of irrigation systems, who is also interested in learning to operate our SISGrass Universal hybrid stitching machine and undertake sports turf renovations.
This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone with experience in sports turf or irrigation, who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team. The job will be based in Wellington (out of our Plimmerton depot), with periods of working away from home for a week or two at a time.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a key part of our specialist sports turf team, you’ll be involved in:- Supporting irrigation installation and repairs alongside our Irrigation Technician
- Independently operating our hybrid stitching machine (training provided)
- Contributing to seasonal renovations such as aeration, fertilising, and seeding on both small turf areas and sports fields
- Operating a range of machinery including tractors and pedestrian plant (training provided)

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're after someone who is:- Experienced in irrigation and/or sports turf (ideally with several years in the industry)
- Comfortable working solo on site and willing to travel as needed
- Practical with a keen interest in machinery and new technology
- Flexible and happy to assist with a wide range of tasks across our operations
- Willing to go the extra mile to get the job done
- Able to interact positively with the public in all situations
- A team player with great communication and problem-solving skills
You’ll also need your Class 2 licence.
