Thames - Chef

We operate well-established cafe and restaurants in Taupo, Waikato, NZ and are looking for suitable candidates to join us for the following position:

• Min 3 years of work experience or relevant level qualification
• Physically fit and team player
• Be able to work during weekends and evenings

• Manage the kitchen to ensure the efficient running
• Develop and execute seasonal menus that showcase fresh, local ingredients
• Take care of pre-service preparations
• Demonstrate the cooking techniques to other kitchen staff
• Trains juniors to upskill them
• Consistently maintain the presentation and flavours of the food
• Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met
• Supervise the other food production employees and kitchenhands
• Ensure the post-service cleanup is up to mark
• Ensure the cleaning, maintenance of work areas, utensils and equipment
• Make recommendation for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the kitchen, its equipment and other areas as appropriate
• Maintain high standards in terms of food quality and authenticity
• Inspect facilities or equipment for regulatory compliance
• Ensures high standards of sanitation and safety. Ensure procedures in relation to work safety and hygiene standards are adhered to.
