The Role:

As an Operational Risk Analyst, you will work closely with a senior leader in an 11-person team. You will provide Risk and Compliance oversight services to a range of prominent financial institutions.

Primary duties will include:

  • Review client documentation through a risk lens, identify non-compliance and risks, and suggest remedial actions.
  • Assist in client risk assessments by planning and executing monitoring activities, adjusting based on evolving risk profiles, and applying professional scepticism to challenge risk areas effectively.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients by providing practice guidance and support.
  • Actively support Managers and team members, while promoting team cohesion and workload sharing.
  • Stay updated on regulatory developments and industry risks, contribute to risk process improvements, and participate in industry forums and internal training.

Core Requirements Include:

  • Experience in the financial services sector with exposure to market regulation risk and compliance.
  • Knowledge of relevant Financial Markets legislation, including Financial Markets Conduct Act and Regulations, Public Trust Act, Trustee Act, KiwiSaver Act, Financial Markets Supervisors Act 2011, and Financial Markets Authority Act.

To be a successful applicant for this role you will need experience in a similar role or in an assurance, audit/ assurance, compliance, or legal position. Equally valuable will be combining these skills with your working knowledge of financial services industry.
