Transport Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and oversee daily and weekly last-mile delivery operations to meet service and contractual requirements.
Implement operational procedures and performance standards to manage fluctuating delivery volumes.
Coordinate cargo handover and operational matters with upstream logistics partners.
Monitor transport operating costs, including labour, fuel and vehicle maintenance, and provide cost-related reporting and recommendations to the Director.
Oversee fleet readiness, including maintenance scheduling and vehicle allocation.
Prepare operational and performance reports and recommend efficiency improvements.Manage and supervisedrivers and delivery staff.
Manage driver rosters, workload allocation and leave planning to ensure operational continuity.
Monitor staff performance and make recommendations for training and recruitment needs.
Ensure compliance with New Zealand transport legislation and Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
Implement and monitor internal safety procedures and operational risk controls.
Requirements:
minimum five years of relevant work experience.
Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and logistics planning.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills for internal reporting and external liaison.
