Waterworks Operator or Assistant or Trainee
The Role
The Kawerau District Council has an opportunity for a Waterworks Operator, or Waterworks Assistant, or Waterworks Trainee to join our Three Waters Team. This is a permanent full time position, which reports to the Three Waters Team Leader.
Responsibilities include supporting the operations of the various water supply and wastewater treatment plants, and reticulation, and assisting in the maintenance of storm water systems. Record keeping of daily sampling, and data entry are a part of this role, so knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.The hours of work will be from 7.30am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday and include stand-by duties on a rotating roster.
Our Expectations
Ideally, the successful candidate will have completed an NZ Apprenticeship in Water Treatment Level 4, and have five years of applicable experience or equivalent. However, lesser-qualified candidates may be appointed at the Assistant or Trainee level with the expectation of completing the apprenticeship in-house.
