We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Herd Manager and Dairy Assistant to join our team on a “new converted” 650-cow dairy farm in Hororata. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in animal health, enjoys responsibility, and wants to be part of a positive, forward-thinking team.

About the Role
Herd Manager: You’ll be involved in all aspects of herd management including milking, animal health, calving, mating, pasture allocation, and feeding out. You’ll also help lead junior staff and support the Farm Manager with daily operations and seasonal planning.
What You’ll Bring- At least 2 years NZ dairy experience
- Strong animal health and milking skills
- Ability to identify and treat mastitis, lameness, and general illness
- Experience with Protrack, Halter, or similar systems (advantage)
- Confident tractor and motorbike operator
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, honest, and proactive attitude
- Full NZ driver’s licence and ability to pass drug testing
- NZ residency or valid work visa
