**About the Role**
The Tawa Corps believes that rangatahi are Tino Taonga (precious treasures) and were created by God to be seen, heard, and included. We are committed to creating an environment where rangatahi experience a sense of belonging and are supported to grow—both personally and in their relationship with Jesus.
We're seeking someone to lead a team of youth ministry staff and volunteers in developing meaningful opportunities for young people to connect, grow, and thrive as part of The Salvation Army community.
**What will your responsibilities be:**- Developing intentional, supportive relationships with rangatahi that foster belonging and encourage growth and development.
- Working to see rangatahi make decisions to follow Jesus and growing in their discipleship journey.
- Leading programmes for rangatahi that outwork the Salvation Army community's mission and Next Gen strategy.
- Recruit, train, and build a team of volunteers who work together and care cooperatively for rangatahi.
- Work with others to develop a long-term plan for youth ministry.
- Establish and foster appropriate internal and external relationships to enable connection and collaboration.
- Attend and journey with rangatahi at camps and events, being fully present and engaged in their experience.
- A NZQA Level 5 qualification in a relevant field AND two years ministry experience.
- Legal entitlement to work in Aotearoa New Zealand
- A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Connection to The Salvation Army
- A passion for working with young people
- Support for the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- A commitment to continued development and learning in youth ministry
- Ideally, you will also have, or be working towards, the following competencies and attributes
- An ability to learn and take instruction
- Good time management skills
- A clean full driving licence
- Good cross-cultural understanding
- Written and oral communication skills

This role is **part time** and hours worked will be **30 per week.**
The **salary for this role will be $51,638.****03.**
