Cook wanted

Our pay: $25-$32 per hour depending on skills

We are a well-established popular restaurant based in Southland

To enhance our team, we are now looking for 2 Cooks to join our team. We are expecting someone who has a passion for food, attention to details, ability to multi task and be a proactive member of the team.

Ideal candidates should have at least 1 year’s relevant work experience at commercial kitchen, or have a NZQF level 2 or 3 qualification in cookery or equivalent certificates.

You are required to:

• Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Checking ingredients to make sure the quality and freshness
• Preparing and Cooking various dishes, fillings, sources in various equipment, utensils and grillers
• Measure and combine ingredients and raw materials using hands/hand tools and other equipment for traditional foods
• Seasoning, portioning, adding sauces to the food during/after cooking
• Preparing food to meet client's taste and dietary needs
• Arrange food on plates or wrap it to be taken away
• Storing and reserving food
• Assisting in planning menus, estimating food and labour costs
• Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.
• Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of machines before each run, to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Assisting with training and coordinating with junior cooks or kitchen hands, as requested by Chef
