This is a dynamic position as Parts Advisor for our business that will require you to correspond carefully with our customers, suppliers and workshop department. It involves co-ordinating online sales and maintaining stock levels and some fitment info on our two E-commerce stores too so you'll gain and deploy valuable experience in some E-commerce aspects too.

Preferred experience:

Our ideal Parts Advisor would have worked in a similar busy environment in the past. You will need excellent time management, prioritisation, customer service and communication skills. Parts Interpreters, Technical Sales, Mechanics and Service Advisors are all likely to have a lot of transferable skills and knowledge.

Familiarity with relevant auto or motorcycle parts and systems would be a big plus. Co-ordination of many local and overseas orders is a big part of the role. We're the entry point to NZ and the appointed distributor for many quality brands of genuine and aftermarket parts for two-wheelers in NZ.

Essential skills:

Computer literacy –

(i) there is a shared cloud file to manage inquiries
(ii) sales stemming from online inquiry and picking/dispatch (auto email and reply templates are used)
(iii) ordering from most suppliers requires use of their online ordering systems

(iv) basic competence with E-commerce programs (e.g. Shopify, Magento, Wordpress, Wix shops etc)

Communication –

(i) The ability to interpret customer's needs and match parts and secure the sale - over the phone, online or face to face

(ii) Accurate communication with other industry partners including suppliers by phone and email

(iii) Ability to respond proficiently to a range of simple to technical and challenging requests will be essential to this position

(iv) Excellent written English ability for online descriptions and marketing for parts and accessories (someone who can write without AI).

Time and schedule management –

(i) Due to the demand for our excellent range of motor scooter parts, you will be required to use effective time and schedule management skills to increase the productivity and success of our parts department
(ii) Management of inquiries and your subsequent inventory checking or inquiries to suppliers plus timely communication customers is essential to keep the department moving smoothly and constantly

(iii) Keeping abreast of the daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal tasks and projects as set out in the Standards and Procedures document

Interpersonal –

(i) Continuing to build relationships with local and overseas suppliers and other industry entities

(ii) We have a pleasantly diverse range of team members and customers, maintaining our reputation for quality service to customers and ability to continue our high team morale is essential
(iii) Understanding that customers will have varying expectations of performance and price, and ability to give clear and concise explanations about these

(iv) Your positive attitude will tell customers you care about their needs, and your confidence in your products and services will remind them they are giving their hard-earned money to the right place.

Hours of work are full time and include 5 hours on Saturday as this is often our busiest day in the shop. Overtime is often available if wanted. Leave or less hours can be easily negotiated in the off season, approx May - August. Standards and Procedures documents are provided, plus great training including in Health and Safety, sales and the role itself.
