About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Principal Communications Advisor to join our Communications and Promotions team - Te Toko Reo.

Te Toko Reo is the voice of Te Taura Whiri – the team leads, promotes, supports, creates and engages across a range of kaupapa. This includes strategic communications, delivering key events, driving engaging digital platforms and connecting across?Te Whare o te Reo Mauriora.

The Principal Communications Advisor would lead the delivery of internal and external communications. This role would suit someone well established in their communications career, with wide-ranging generalist communications skills, and who is keen to work in a kaupapa Maori environment.

About You

You’ll have at least seven years of experience working in communications or similar roles.

Written and oral fluency in te reo Maori is a big plus, but ultimately we would look towards your shining excellence in Communications - besides, you'd be joining a colourful crowd of reo Maori speakers of varying levels.

You will:

Use your experience to shape solutions to our more gnarly communications challenges

Occasionally be able to work outside of normal working hours, during our busy times such as Te Wiki o te Reo Maori (September).

Coach and mentor others to build up our Communications expertise

Have clever solutions and want to get the job done right the first time

Ideally have experience in Event Management

Salary band $95,000 - $125,000 depending on experience plus KiwiSaver and te reo Maori allowance based on Level Finder Examination.
