Kuranui College is seeking a highly organised and proactive Manaakitanga Support - Relief Co-ordinator (Front of house/Reception) to manage the efficient provision of relief teachers and serve as a key administrative support to the college. This is a crucial role, working 35 hours per week, term time only, and requires an early start (7am) when coordinating relief staff.
Remuneration - 35 hours per week, Term time only, Grade 5, Support Staff in School’s Collective Agreement
This dual-function role is vital to ensuring minimal disruption to teaching and learning by managing day-to-day relief cover. It also supports the Manaakitanga team by providing a warm welcome at the reception, handling student care, and performing general administrative duties.
Key Accountabilities:Day-to-Day Relief Co-ordination: Manage the daily coordination of relief staff, act as the first point of contact for staff absences (early morning), contact and schedule suitable relief teachers, and accurately record absences and bookings for payroll.
Ensure all relief teachers meet policy requirements, including a current practising certificate and police vet, and provide them with necessary induction resources.
Manaakitanga Support: Ensure everyone is greeted warmly, provide accurate and timely responses to queries, answer and triage incoming calls, and assist staff with attendance rolls and resource booking. Triage sick students and attend first-aid emergencies as the first responder, managing supplies for the sick bay and first-aid kits.
Administrative Duties: Support the Executive Assistant with general administrative duties, including organising catering, managing staff pigeon holes, issuing keys, and assisting SLT with Emergency Evacuation Administration.
Event Management: Support the school with event organisation, ensuring all events adhere to policies and promote the school positively.

We are looking for a candidate who has: Proven experience in a front-of-house or reception role.
Strong ability to work to deadlines and problem-solve in a timely manner.Experience in all Google applications, KAMAR, and Schoolbridge (or the ability to quickly learn new systems).
A current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
