Job Summary
The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Chinese dishes in accordance with authentic techniques and restaurant standards. The role includes ensuring food safety, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and supporting kitchen operations to deliver high-quality meals in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, cook, and present authentic Chinese cuisine (e.g. stir-fries, dumplings, noodle
- Ensure all food preparation meets hygiene and quality standards, including proper
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as woks, rice cookers, steamers, and
- Assist in planning daily food preparation and coordinating with kitchen staff to manage timing and presentation of dishes.
- Monitor inventory and inform management of supply needs or low stock.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils according to food safety
- Follow portion control standards and minimize food wastage.
- Work effectively with the team during busy service periods to maintain speed and
- Adhere to workplace health and safety policies, and report any hazards or incidents to management.
- An AZQF level 4 qualification
- At least three years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, sauces, and ingredients.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
