About the Role

The Food Services Assistant (FSA) role is responsible for assisting the food services team to deliver an efficient food and beverage service to patients, visitors and staff.

This is a permanent role offered at 0.5 FTE or 20 hours per week to be worked on a rotating roster Monday to Saturday.

Specific duties include:

  • Taking and delivering meal orders to patients
  • Washing dishes in a timely manner
  • Undertake cleaning duties in accordance with the cleaning schedule
  • Assist in the preparation and assembly of the patient meal tray
Skills and Experience
  • Experience working in a kitchen would be advantageous
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Good literacy and communication skills
  • Motivated and reliable, with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Confident and capable of using computers and software
The successful applicant must have 'Practice Food Safety in a Food Business; unit 167'.

To be eligible for employment at Mercy Hospital Dunedin, applicants will be required to provide vaccination history.
