Job Description:
We’re on the lookout for a motivated and hands-on Restaurant Manager to take charge of the overall running and general management of our restaurant. This role is all about leading from the front — overseeing the full operation of the business, supporting and managing the team, and making sure everything runs smoothly day to day.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining high service standards, managing staff performance, overseeing stock and costs, and ensuring our customers have a great experience every time they visit.

As we operate 7 days a week, you’ll work flexible, rostered shifts including weekends and public holidays to ensure consistent management coverage across all trading hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility for the general management and overall operation of the restaurant.
  • Lead, supervise, and support the team to ensure smooth daily service and strong performance.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and ensure a positive dining experience at all times.
  • Plan and develop the burger menu and other offerings in consultation with the chefs, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and appealing options for customers.
  • Oversee staff selection, rostering, training, and performance management.
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
  • Monitor sales, costs, and budgets to help drive profitability and business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient working environment.
  • Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and any issues in a professional manner.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience: Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  1. A hospitality or business management qualification (e.g., Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or equivalent), OR
  2. At least 3 years of relevant work experience in restaurant management.

Additional Requirements:

  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
  • Have a current Manager’s certificate or be able to obtain one if hired.

Employment Conditions:

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Minimum 30 hours per week.
  • Hourly rate: NZD $30 – $35 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Rostered shifts across 7 days.
