You will be responsible for facilitatingongoing education, acting as a resource person, and providing professional andeducational support.Primarily responsible for nursing staff educational service delivery inclusive of Healthcare Assistants.Facilitates all clinical education processes including developing orientation processes for new staff & maintaining educational competencies that are area specific for all staff Develops educational frameworks for the cancer service/ specialties for IPs & OP nursing staff Assesses all individuals professional development & support staff education to the top of their scope Educates/ mentors staff on professional development via HealthLearn & mentors independent learning processesDevelops learning contracts in partnership with Charge Nurse Manager for poor performance issues & supports staff on the floor Supports specialised student learning staff environs such as DEU Clinical leads on the floorEstablishes journal clubs for services & mentors staff to run these independently for afterhours shiftsAboutthe ServiceTheBone Marrow Transplant Unit located in ward B6 is where patients receivespecialised treatment for malignant and non-malignant haematological disorderstreating patients from throughout the South Island.We are a well-established collaborative team,who work and play hard.

We deliver high standards of nursing care to thepatients and families admitted to the ward.

  • 5 years recent haematology experienceRelevant bone marrow transplant experienceYou will either hold or be working towards a relevant post graduate qualification.Demonstrated teaching/ mentoring/ coaching skills.Proven ability to support nursing staff at all levels of practice.Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with a strong patient focus.Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
