Join our team processing wild venison in the beautiful town of Hororata!
About Us:We are an Export venison primary processor committed to delivering top-quality products to our export customers. Our team prioritizes efficiency, safety, and sustainability in all operations. We are currently seeking skilled and dedicated Butchers to join our processing team in the beautiful Canterbury town of Hororata.
Key Responsibilities:- Dressing: Efficiently dress venison carcasses according to industry standards, ensuring compliance with hygiene and quality protocols. Experience with legging and hide removal expected.
- Boning: Boning out wild deer carcasses, other meat & wild game from time-to-time, maximizing yields while minimizing waste and adhering to quality specifications.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain processing equipment, performing routine checks and raising any issues as needed.
- Hygiene and Safety: Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a clean, safe and compliant working environment. Participate in ongoing training to uphold best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure efficient workflow and processing, providing support to others as needed.
Holidays:4 weeks annual leave per year of which 2 weeks will be timed to coincide with periods of seasonal shutdown (e.g. roar, Easter, Christmas) or plant closure.
Qualifications:- Previous experience in meat processing, particularly in dressing, legging, and boning, is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting production targets.
- Physical fitness and stamina for lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
