Job Advertisement – Motel Manager

Pay Rate: $30 – $33 per hour (depending on skills and experience)

We are a busy and well-established Motel Inn located in Central Auckland, providing high-quality accommodation and excellent customer service to both domestic and international guests. To support our continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Motel Manager to join our team.

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the motel, including reservations, guest services, housekeeping, and maintenance.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies, including digital marketing campaigns, to promote the motel across various booking platforms and attract new customers.
• Monitor online booking systems (Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda, Airbnb, etc.) and manage channel distribution to maximise occupancy and revenue.
• Maintain strong customer service standards, handle guest inquiries and complaints promptly, and ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Prepare financial reports, monitor budgets, control operational costs, and ensure profitability targets are met.
• Recruit, train, roster, and supervise staff, ensuring performance standards and workplace policies are maintained.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, fire regulations, and licensing requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and travel agents to ensure smooth motel operations.
• Contribute to long-term business development planning and implement innovative strategies for growth.

• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience in motel/hotel management, hospitality operations, or related business management; OR a Diploma or higher qualification in Business, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Strong background in marketing and business operations, with proven knowledge in digital marketing and new marketing channels.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with multiple online booking platforms and property management systems.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to engage effectively with guests, staff, and business partners.
• Demonstrated leadership and staff management experience, including rostering, performance monitoring, and training.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Financial literacy with experience in budgeting, cost control, and reporting.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays when required.
