Lead Guide and Social Media Manager

We are seeking someone to fill a new hybrid role at Taiao Adventures. This role is a highly experienced lead tour guide position overlaid with a social media management element.

Taiao Adventures is a high level tourism operator based in Rotorua. We deliver top notch tours in the outdoors to see glow worms and geothermal activity in various locations. Our ethos is all about caring for the people that we host, the people in our team and the places we visit.

• Leading top level tours to our manuhiri, showcasing NZ and Rotorua as a premium destination
• Working with our guide team to ensure our tours are delivered to the highest quality
• Being the leader of our social media campaigns and presence. Taking directive and implementing it to achieve success and a positive image without much direct management
• Working with the leadership team to ensure we are performing at the highest level
• Indoor and outdoor work in all weather
• Night-time tourism operation which means working regular weekends and late evenings until 2am

• Must be able to work weekends regularly, this is tourism
• Must be excited to work indoors and outdoors and enjoy this variation (all weather company)
• Competent driving small buses and reversing trailers
• Physically strong enough to lift and move kayaks on and off trailers for our tours
• Have min 2 years of tourism experience delivering exceptional experiences
• Be a top level communicator and be able to talk to any stranger at an engaging rate for a length of time
• Being able to speak another language is a big plus as our travelers are from all over the world
• An effective team player as a guide and be brilliantly self-managed and motivated to create highly performing social media content

• First Aid Certificate (2 day outdoor)
• Full, clean drivers license, preferably with a P endorsement

Job synopsis: Full time, permanent guiding and administration position with minimum guaranteed hours of 30/week.
