Business Support Lead – Fixed Term – 8 Months

Mo Tatou - About us:

Presbyterian Support Central's vision is one of inclusive communities where people and families are safe, strong and connected.

Our Family Works teams are dedicated to providing person-centred, culturally responsive, caring and professional support to people from all walks of life. Family Works provides a range of services to children and families including social work, counselling, life-skills and parenting courses, safety programmes and mediation.

We are a committed and professional team at Family Works and we provide a range of services across Wellington, Wairarapa, Whanganui and Taranaki.

Mo te Mahi - About the Role

Based at our Central office in Porirua, this role will support the development and continuous improvement of our Family Works services supporting children, young people, families and communities who have experienced trauma, family violence, separation, poverty, stress and anxiety, to have a safer and brighter future.

You will oversee the documentation and processes required to position Family Works to be a leader of social services across the Central Region.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Review of Family Works policies, procedures and processes, to ensure they continue to meet best practice and deliver high quality services
  • Monitor and audit policy and procedure compliance and drive the implementation of continuous improvement measures
  • Lead the Family Works strategic goals with regard to identifying and preparing for Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitiation to Tender (ITTs).
  • Actively collaborate and engage across local community providers to identify partnership ventures to achieve enhanced service delivery opportunities.
  • Lead learning and development initiatives to support the induction, orientation and on-going training required to ensure services standards are met and on-going professional development is maintained

This position will involve working closely with our funders, including the Social Investment Agency. It will be responsible for maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of their needs and policy direction, and ensuring Family Works remains well positioned to respond appropriately.

Some travel, including occasional overnight stays, will be required in this role due to the need to visit our Family Works offices across the Central Region.

Mo Koe - About you:

You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification and have experience working in social services, health or a justice environment.

You will have proven experience in writing operational policies, understanding community and government resources and have a sound knowledge of procurement regulations and compliance requirements, particularly in relation to tenders. You will have an eye for the details and be robust about meeting contractual requirements and service delivery.

In addition, you will bring with you:

  • A quality mindset and the ability to seek opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Experience in the successful design and implementation of processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to support the effective management of change
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external partners
  • Strong communication skills both on paper and face to face

As this is a fixed term position you will have the ability to assimilate information quickly and be focused on achieving business outcomes. Working with complex funding models and delivering on multiple contracts means you will rely on your extensive knowledge of this area to ensure you can successfully hit the ground running in this role.
