We are now seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and caring Diversional Therapist to join our close-knit team.
The Role
As a Diversional Therapist, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing the well-being of our residents through meaningful and engaging activities. You’ll plan and deliver a variety of programmes that cater to the physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of residents — helping them live life to the fullest each day.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and evaluate individual and group activities that enrich residents’ daily lives.
Foster a fun, inclusive, and stimulating environment.
Build positive, supportive relationships with residents, families, and the wider care team.
Support residents’ independence and wellbeing through tailored activity programmes
Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
Lead and inspire caregivers to participate in lifestyle and activity engagement.
About You
A Diversional Therapy qualification (DT or DT Assistant) — training can be provided for the right candidate.
Previous experience in aged care or dementia care is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Creative thinker with strong organisational and time-management abilities
Positive, empathetic attitude and genuine enjoyment in working with older people
Full New Zealand driver’s licence (manual an advantage)
Understanding of Nga Paerewa Health & Disability Services Standards and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice
