Chinese Chif

We are looking for an experienced full-time Chinese Chef to join our progressive restaurant in Paraparaumu, Wellington.

• At least 2 years relevant experience or a level 4 or above relevant qualification
• Must be able to work on weekends and work overtime.
• Must be flexible to work late-night shifts and be able to manage two shifts in a day.
• Long-term commitment required.

Key tasks & responsibilities:

1. Planning and updating our menus
2. Estimating food and labour costs for our restaurant
3. Ordering food supplies regularly
4. Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
5. Discussing food preparation issues with manager, kitchen, and waiting staff
6. Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
7. Preparing and cooking food
8. Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
9. Selecting and training kitchen staff when required
10. May freeze and preserve foods
11. Any other duties that may be assigned by the owner

• A stable position in Wellington Region, New Zealand.
• A supportive and friendly team environment.
• Good pay $28 - $35 per hour.
• Guaranteed of 30 to 50 hours per week.
