Manager, Property Services
CBEC Property Services and Marquee Hire is looking for a friendly, reliable and self motivated person to Manage our team.
CBEC is one of New Zealand’s oldest community enterprises, operating since 1991. We employ over 70 staff across a diverse range of businesses and services throughout the Northland region, delivering real outcomes for people, places and community.
This is a hands on role, ideal for someone ready to step into middle management while still enjoying working on the tools and leading from the front.
About the Role
You’ll manage day to day running of our property services and marquee hire operations. You’ll supervise staff, coordinate jobs, ensure health and safety standards are met, and help deliver outstanding customer service.The role is varied and practical, with work including small to medium property developments, grounds and garden maintenance, landscaping, arborist support, general property maintenance, and marquee setup.
You’ll also contribute to improving systems, assist with quoting and job costing, and supporting business growth — while ensuring jobs are completed on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities- Supervising team members on-site and in the yard
- Health and Safety coordination
- Site visits, measuring and quoting
- Delivering a high level of customer service
- General grounds maintenance and landscaping
- Arborist support, tree trimming and hedge pruning
- Minor building repairs and general property maintenance
- Section clearing
- Marquee quoting, setup and pack down
- Property services and/or trade background
- Previous Supervisor or Team Leader experience
- Understanding of job costing and working to quotes
- Landscaping or commercial planting experience
- Physically fit and comfortable with hands on outdoor work
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
- Good time management with a strong sense of urgency
- Vehicle and Machine maintenance
- Chainsaw experience
- Basic computer skills
- Full NZ Drivers Licence
