Outstanding clinical leadership opportunity in Surgical DirectoratePart time, Permanent role (0.25 FTE)Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the roleTe Whatu Ora Northern region is looking for an experienced clinical healthcare professional to provide clinical and service leadership to Regional Oral and Maxillofacial Service (OMS), part of the Surgical Services Directorate, Te Toka Tumai Auckland.This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably registered healthcare professional with strong leadership skills and experience to support the delivery of high-quality patient care as well as provide operational leadership for the team.The regional OMS service works closely with the Auckland Regional Hospital and Specialist Dentistry service, ORL Head and Neck Service and Plastics.

OMS delivers patient care from District Hospitals across the Northern region.This challenging and rewarding role requires a leader with an ability to work collaboratively to deliver innovative and creative solutions and identify, create and maximise opportunities.
You will be approachable, forward thinking and keen to implement changes to further enhance the services provided by the team. Strong relationship building and influencing skills will be key – the role works in partnership with the service Business Manager and requires a significant level of collaboration with other leaders across the region.
You will be supported by the Surgical Director and the Directorate Leadership Team including the Maori Health Lead, Nurse Director, Allied Health Director, General Manager, Finance and HR Managers.This is a part time, 0.25 FTE, permanent role leading a regional service providing care across the Northern region.
The role holds accountability for direct reports which include Senior Medical Officers. Responsibilities include working with the leadership team to ensure service clinical quality and safety, delivery of high quality clinical care within required timeframes, workforce development and planning, staff management and financial management of service budget.
