Customer Service Representative - Fixed-term

Join our Taumarunui Rural Supplies team in a 12-month fixed-term position (parental leave cover) starting in September 2025. This role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday and will require working on rostered Saturday mornings. We are looking for a team player who is passionate about agriculture sector and retail.

About the role
This is not your standard Customer Service Representative (CSR) role. We are looking for a team member who is willing to work both in store and occasionally out in the field assisting our Technical Field Representative (TFR).
When in store, you will be responsible for the inwards/outwards goods, including using a forklift, loading trailers and completing on farm deliveries. You will also help the team out by providing knowledgeable sales advice and service to PGW clients and day-to-day manual operation of the store, such as assisting with stock management and sales processing.When you are out in the field assisting the TFR you could be building relationships with clients and completing crop checks.
Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Undertake forklift, ute and trailer driving and delivery duties
- Provide sound advice to a variety of customers based on their needs
- Pro-actively solve queries and problems from customers, suppliers and other staff
- Process sales and product requests with efficiency
- Order, unpack and display merchandise according to company guidelines
- Support the TFR in the field.
Skills and experience:
- Previous experience in the New Zealand rural sector is essential
- Good physical fitness as regular heavy lifting is required
- A full, current and clean New Zealand driver's licence and forklift license + F endorsement
- Experience driving and backing trailers
- A team player who can roll up their sleeves and contribute to outstanding result
- Previous retail and/or sales experience is an advantage but not essential
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook is essential.
