Retail Supervisor

Remuneration: $25 to $28 per hour

We are currently looking for a capable and motivated Retail Supervisor to help manage operations and staff across these locations.

As a Retail Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day store operations, staff management, and customer service excellence across two retail stores. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations, driving sales, maintaining compliance, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of retail staff at both store locations.
• Ensure staffing levels are adequate and rosters are effectively managed.
• Deliver high-quality customer service and manage customer inquiries and complaints.
• Oversee stock control, including ordering, receiving, and conducting regular stock takes.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure promotions are displayed effectively.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing performance support and feedback.
• Ensure all health, safety, and licensing regulations (including liquor licensing) are met.
• Handle opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and banking processes.
• Prepare sales and operational reports for management.

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role in a retail environment.
• A relevant qualification in business or retail management at level 7 (e.g. NZ Certificate or Diploma in Business Management, Retail Management or similar) is required.
• Experience working in a liquor store environment is highly desirable.
• Holder of a General Manager’s Certificate (Liquor License).
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using POS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and travel between store locations.

• Based across two locations: Feilding (Liquor Shop) and Ohakune (Post Shop).
• Travel between sites is required; travel allowance or company vehicle may be provided.
• Availability for weekend, evening, and public holiday shifts is required, especially in the liquor store.
