The Role
We’re looking for a Designer/Technician with at least 7 years’ NZ industry experience to take a lead role in delivering projects from concept through to completion. You’ll be trusted to run your own projects with support from the wider team when needed.This is a hands-on role that will involve detailed documentation, consultant coordination, client communication, and site involvement to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee multiple projects from design to completion.
- Produce accurate, detailed working drawings and documentation.
- Prepare specifications and coordinate with consultants.
- Ensure all work complies with NZ building codes and regulations.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and contract administration.
- Provide site support and help maintain design intent during construction.
- 7+ years’ experience in the NZ architecture or building industry.
- Strong technical documentation and detailing skills (ArchiCAD preferred).
- Good knowledge of building products, construction methods, and compliance.
- Confident leading projects and working with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Able to manage deadlines and multiple projects effectively.
- Detail-focused, organised, and proactive in problem-solving.
- Lead a range of interesting residential and commercial projects.
