Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the RoleWe’re recruiting two Manager roles within the People and Capability leadership team: Manager, People and Capability Strategy Manager, People and Capability OperationsTogether, these roles provide end‑to‑end leadership of the Treasury’s people system, from future‑focused strategy and workforce insights through to high‑quality, consistent delivery across the employee lifecycle.Both roles: Lead, coach and grow teams that deliver impact Partner closely with senior leaders across the Treasury Translate organisational priorities into people solutions that lift performance, capability and culture Work collaboratively to ensure strong alignment between strategy and deliveryDepending on the role, you’ll either: Lead the development and delivery of the People Strategy, aligning workforce priorities with organisational objectives and driving future‑focused initiatives that build a high‑performing, adaptable workforce, or Drive operational excellence across HR services throughout the employee lifecycle, translating strategic priorities into actionable solutions and equipping senior leaders and people managers to achieve workforce objectives.These are highly influential roles with a genuine opportunity to shape how people experience work at the Treasury.
Ō pūmanawa | About YouWe’re looking for senior people leaders who bring credibility, judgement and a strong sense of purpose, and who are motivated by making a difference through people and organisations.You’ll bring: Extensive experience in senior HR, people or organisational leadership roles A strong track record of leading and developing high‑performing teams Confidence partnering with senior leaders and influencing complex decisions Deep knowledge of contemporary people practice, employment legislation and public‑sector context The ability to work at pace, balance multiple priorities, and lead through change A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and embedding inclusive, culturally responsive practice Whether your expertise is more strategic or operational, you’ll be people‑centred, outcomes‑focused, and comfortable working at the intersection of organisational priorities, culture and delivery.
