New World Kerikeri are looking for a Department Manager to help us deliver the best customer experience and motivate and inspire our Delicatessen team.

Applicants will ideally have previous experience as a Retail Department Manager or Assistant Manager with good leadership skills. SAP knowledge and experience managing and leading a team would be preferable.

This opportunity is a full-time permanent position, 40+hrs per week, 5 days per week.

The Role:

As Delicatessen Manager you'll be a hands-on leader, responsible for a team of 13. You will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring the in-store Delicatessen provides an enhanced customer service experience and excellent product offering.
  • Maintain high presentation standards, 100% price integrity and ensure adherence to Food Safety and Health and Safety practices.
  • Develop and manage your team including rosters, training and performance management.
  • Maximizing sales and achieve specific profit margins whilst managing expenses.
  • Control ordering for the department through effective use of the in-store purchasing systems.
  • Effectively resolve all customer related enquires.
  • Ensure operational delivery standards are met or exceeded including stock level control, merchandising to enhance sales potential.

What we are looking for:
  • Experience working with a team to achieve department KPI's
  • A passion for innovation for our customers and keeping up with trends.
  • Motivated and keen to drive sales, whilst having a good understanding of department profitability, team rosters, wage budgeting, G.P's and cost out recipes.
  • Someone with their finger on the pulse, that can lead a busy department with lots on the go at the same time - you must be able to keep calm under pressure.
  • SAP knowledge and understanding ordering, and department administrative aspects of SAP.
  • The ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Integrity & honesty, innovative thinking and commercial awareness.
  • Positivity, initiative and self-motivation.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills and a customer service orientation.
  • A strong focus on Health & Safety and Food Safety compliance.
  • Completion of Unit Standards 167 and 168 is preferred but not essential.
