We are seeking experienced and compassionate Support Workers to join our Kapiti team. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, proactive, and committed to empowering people with disabilities to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.

The Role
This is a rewarding casual position supporting a person who enjoys a rural lifestyle and benefits from structured routines, positive role modelling, and active community engagement. You’ll help them maintain a healthy lifestyle, build practical household skills, and strengthen their connections with family and the wider community.
In this role, you’ll also be supporting them to manage behaviours that can arise from time to time by following well-developed behaviour and support plans. Your ability to remain calm, respectful, and consistent will be key to creating a safe, stable, and empowering environment.

About You
You are patient, reliable, and motivated to create positive change. You understand the importance of clear boundaries, structure, and empathy when supporting people with complex needs. You are comfortable with household tasks, can model healthy routines, and bring the resilience needed to respond to challenging situations calmly and professionally.
Previous experience in disability or mental health support is highly desirable, particularly if you have supported individuals who benefit from behaviour support strategies. Your ability to follow detailed plans, work collaboratively in a team, and build trust will be essential.
