About the Role
In this part-time role, you will be part of a dedicated residential team providing support for a lovely woman who lives in her own home in the Lower Hutt area. She enjoys spending time with her family, going for walks, aqua jogging, arts and crafts, music, animals, and socialising.
This role involves building a trusting and supportive relationship, encouraging her independence, and helping her engage in activities that bring her happiness and connection.Shifts include a regular Monday shift from 9:15 am to 12 pm, with the potential for additional weekend or sleepover work.
Please note: This role is for female staff only, as requested by the person supported.
About You
You are patient, reliable, and motivated to create positive change. You understand the importance of clear boundaries, structure, and empathy when supporting people with complex needs. You are comfortable with household tasks, can model healthy routines, and bring the resilience needed to respond to challenging situations calmly and professionally.
Previous experience in disability or mental health support is highly desirable, particularly if you have supported individuals who benefit from behaviour support strategies. Your ability to follow detailed plans, work collaboratively in a team, and build trust will be essential.
