This is a pivotal role, providing proactive high level administrative and executive support to the Directors and wider leadership team. As a key member of the team, you will play a central role in coordinating day-to-day activities, managing key communications, including briefings, reports and presentations.
A critical element of this role includes oversight of capital purchasing, procurement processes, and the effective management of capital projects within the Directorate, ensuring compliance, timeliness, and value for money. You will be a core contributor to the senior leadership team, fostering strong working relationships across services and departments, and supporting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, proactive and self-driven with the confidence and composure to perform under pressure. You will have proven experience in supporting senior leaders within complex, fast-paced environments — preferably within healthcare or the broader public sector.

What you will bring;2–3 years’ experience as a PA or in a senior support roleStrong time management, organisational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasksAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Visio, and Outlook)An appetite and ability to learn new systems and processes quicklyConfident report writing and documentation skillsA meticulous, high-standard approach to work with strong attention to detailFamiliarity with administrative processes and system improvementExperience with capital and procurement processes and finance and procurement systems such as OracleA positive, flexible, professional and discreet attitude with a strong drive for results Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
