Construction and Technical Recruitment (CTR) are working with a well-established construction company is seeking an experienced Intermediate Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of a significant project in Wellington. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a high-value education project within a supportive and professional contracting environment.

The Role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of the project, ensuring it is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will be site-based and work closely with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors and client representatives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Full project lifecycle management from site establishment through to practical completion and handover
  • Developing, maintaining and reporting against construction programmes
  • Managing project budgets, forecasting, variations and cost control
  • Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site management teams
  • Ensuring compliance with MoE requirements, building consents and contractual obligations
  • Leading health & safety, quality assurance and environmental management processes
  • Regular communication and reporting to senior management and stakeholders
  • Proactively identifying and managing project risks and opportunities

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience as an Intermediate Project Manager within the New Zealand construction industry
  • Demonstrated experience delivering commercial or education-sector projects
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, programming and financial management
  • Confident leadership style with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors on site
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to project delivery
