Class 4 Truck Driver

We are seeking an experienced Class 4 Truck Driver to join our busy Branch in Palmerston North.

Macaulay Metals is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated Scrap Metal Recycling Company and we’ve been in operation for over 60 years! We purchase both steel and non-ferrous metals, process them and sell them for further recycling. We are working hard to recycle scrap metal and reduce waste!

Our team in the Palmerston North Branch is looking for a hardworking and physically fit person to drive our Class 4 Trucks. You will be a key member of the team, operating our Hi-Ab and Hook trucks to collect scrap metal from our customers across the Manawatu- Whanganui region.

We offer a friendly and vibrant work environment and ongoing training and upskilling.

• Have at least 12 months HT driving experience in New Zealand.
• Have the legal right to work in New Zealand (e.g. NZ or Australian citizenship, NZ Residency, or open work visa).
• Be able to wear all the appropriate PPE gear as required on our sites and supplier sites.
• A clean current Class 4 license.
• Hi-ab truck experience would be an advantage, but training will be provided.
• Be pro-active and resourceful with a strong work ethic.
• Be physically fit.
• Strong supplier / customer focus.
• Be prepared to undergo a Pre-employment Criminal check.
• Be drug free and able to pass a Pre-employment Drug test and medical.
• Clear communication skills.
• The ability to work unsupervised.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, Saturday shifts as rostered. Weekly hours are approximately 40-45 hours per week.

NOTE: This is not a line-haul position.
