Assistant Manager - Boutique Motel
As a Motel Assistant Manager, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring a high standard of customer service and smooth running of the motel. In addition to front office and management duties, you will actively assist the housekeeping team, supplementing their tasks as needed to maintain high cleanliness standards and assisting with marketing the motel through promotions and social media channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out daily motel operations, including check-ins, check-outs and guest inquiries
Supervise and monitor housekeeping
Handle bookings, cancellations, online reservation systems, guest communication and reviews
Ensure excellent customer service and resolve any guest concerns efficiently
Assist and supplement the housekeeping team with their tasks to ensure the rooms are ready on time
Maintain overall motel cleanliness indoors and outdoors, safety, and compliance with health regulations
Monitor occupancy levels and assist in revenue management
Oversee stock control and ordering of supplies on the request of the manager
Assist with basic rostering, timesheets and staff management
Requirements:
Previous experience in hotel/motel management or a similar hospitality role
Strong leadership and customer service skills
Must assist in housekeeping duties
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
Experience in reservation systems ( RMS)
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Legal right to work in New Zealand
