Heretaunga Seniors is a vibrant, welcoming community where connection, care and manaakitanga are important in supporting our vision of te oranga ake – flourishing together. We offer day programmes, social outings, and pastoral care in a safe and inclusive space where kaumatua can come together, share stories, enjoy activities and nourish both body and soul.
We are looking for an energetic, organised and experienced Cook to join our team on a permanent part-time basis working 21.5 hours per week Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
We’re looking for someone who:- Is passionate and takes pride in creating tasty, nourishing meals
- Enjoys engaging with older people and whanau with an ability to build connections quickly
- Has a natural ability to plan and multi-task when the pressure is on
- Brings a positive, caring and ‘can do’ attitude to their work

Nga Pukenga me te Wheako |Skills and Experience
To be successful you will have:- Experience in meal planning and preparing and cooking large volume meals
- Time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience or understanding of the unique needs of our kaumatua would be beneficial
- A full clean driver’s licence, a clean criminal record and NZ working rights
- Commitment to Te Tiriti based practice, Te Reo and Tikanga Maori or a willingness to grow in this space

Heretaunaga Seniors is part of Anglican Care Waiapu (ACW) - the social services arm of Anglican Diocese of Waiapu. ACW provides faith-based services to children, young people families/whanau and older people throughout Bay of Plenty, Tairawhiti, Hawke’s Bay, and Tararua.The successful applicant will foster an environment that reflects the values and purpose of ACW.
