About the role

We employ a small team for bird control with the first team members starting in early / mid-November and the final team members joining in early December.

As a bird controller you are tasked with limiting crop damage from birds. We use a variety of methods including drones, gas guns, shooting, trapping, robots and driving around making noise. The bird control team operate on a roster with 6 days on and one day off - working on a 2 shift pattern: 6am-1:30pm and 1:30-9pm

  • We guarantee a minimum 35 hours of work per week.

Job Requirements
  • You hold a current NZ Firearms license.
  • You have experience operating quad bikes / 4 WD or motorbikes.
  • You have the ability to work as part of a team.
  • You enjoy working outside.
  • You're self-motivated.
  • You have a positive can-do attitude.
  • You’re reliable and punctual.
