Senior Analyst (Resolution) A fixed term opportunity through to December 2027 to help develop the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's framework for dealing with distressed or failing deposit takers, as we implement the resolution sections of the new Deposit Takers Act 2023.
Te tūranga- The role In this role you will help to develop, implement, test and operationalise our resolution function.
Resolution is a wide-ranging, creative and technical area of banking oversight that will enable you to build on or develop skills in: the analysis of deposit-takers' business models, including data and balance-sheet analysis; strategies for restructuring distressed and failing deposit takers; the use and limits of a range of complex new statutory powers; and the development of decision-making and operational processes for promoting the recovery and resolution deposit-takersYou will leverage your technical and communication skills to shape our recovery and resolution policies and processes, support decision-making, and proactively manage a range of internal and external stakeholders.

You enjoy communicating complex technical ideas clearly and persuasively.To be successful in this role you will have:Professional experience in the fields of banking, insurance, financial markets, law, accounting, macroeconomics, economics, or at other central banks or resolution authorities Tertiary qualification in law, economics, finance, or another resolution related discipline Strong analytical and research skills Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences Understanding of financial systems, especially NZ's banking and regulatory frameworks.
