Lead Hand Fabricator - Balclutha
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join South Otago Windows & Doors as a Lead Hand Fabricator . In this full-time position, you will be responsible for leading a team of fabricators in the production of high-quality window and door products at our manufacturing facility in Milton, Otago.
What you'll be doing
Supervise and coordinate the work of a team of fabricators to ensure efficient and effective production
Train and develop our young team members to improve their skills and productivity when required
Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed to maintain a safe working environment
Monitor and maintain equipment and machinery to optimize performance
Liaise with the Operations manager to plan and priorities work to meet customer orders
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity
Provide regular feedback and performance reviews for your team
What we're looking for
Significant experience as a fabricator or tradesperson in the window and door industry
Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Familiarity with production processes, equipment, and machinery used in window and door manufacturing
A relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience
