Baker - Croissant Lead - Christchurch

We are looking for an experienced baker with a passion for pastry to join our growing team. Someone who is keen to work in a great team to produce fantastic products.
  • Full-time – 40 hours per week
  • Rostered shifts 7.30am-3.30pm, and 10.30am-6.30pm
  • Will include at least one weekend day per week, days to be confirmed

Joining at a time of expansion, it is a busy and exciting time for our team. Based at our Tannery location, this role will manage the daily croissant production, under the guidance of our specialist craftspeople. Stepping up and managing croissant production on our senior bakers days off.

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Mixing
  • Cutting and shaping required pastries
  • Baking
  • Keeping workplace clean and organised
  • Ensuring correct pace with production requirements
  • Ordering and managing supplies as required

Overall this role exists to ensure that these specific products are produced consistently to the highest standard to meet customer expectations.

What we are looking for - Qualifications & Experience:
  • Strong experience in artisan bakery making similar style of products
  • Experience with laminated doughs and confidence using a pastry sheeter
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others in the team
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Numerical skills to ensure all elements are correctly accounted for
  • Safe and capable lifting skills from working in physical, busy environment
  • Can work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • Proven ability to problem solve with initiative and thoughtfulness

A passion for croissant based products and experience working with type of product is essential. This role who will suit someone love to enhance, fine tune and refine things to be their very best. We are looking for someone who can lead by example and ensure they contribute to a positive team environment with they way they work.

We appreciate that great candidates have different experiences that they can offer, however, please note that if your baking experience is limited to supermarket style mass production this might not be the best fit for us.
