Artisan Baker - Christchurch
- Full-time – 40 hours per week
- Rostered afternoon/evening shift 2pm-10pm, and 10am-6pm
- Will include at least one weekend day per week, days to be confirmed
Joining at a time of expansion, it is a busy and exciting time for our team. Based at our Tannery location, this provides the opportunity for us to bring on someone who will compliment our strong team of dedicated specialty bakers.
Tasks & Responsibilities- Mixing
- Cut and shape dough
- Baking
- Keeping workplace clean and organised
- Working to a consistent pace to ensure products are ready on time
Overall this role exists to ensure that all products are produced consistently to the highest standard to meet customer expectations. We are looking for someone who views this work as a craft and a passion.
What we are looking for - Qualifications & Experience- Experience in artisan bakery making similar style of products (sourdough bread, French-style viennoiserie)
- Strong baking experience will be required to work independently onsite at times
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others in the team
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
- Safe and capable lifting skills from working in physical, busy environment
- Can work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines
This role would suit someone who takes upmost pride in their work, and is looking for the opportunity to work alongside our senior bakers to improve their own craft skills.
We appreciate that great candidates have different experiences that they can offer, however, please note that if your baking experience is limited to supermarket style mass production this might not be the best fit for us.
Plenty of support will be provided to the successful candidate, including learning how we produce the type of products that our customers love.
