Experience Chef is required immediately

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join and lead our restaurant which specialises in various Japanese cuisines.

Applicant must be able to work days, nights and weekends if required.

• (at least) 5 years’ experience as a chef in a fine restaurant (experience in Japanese restaurant is an advantage).
• Confidence in the Japanese cooking procedures.
• Basic Good / Hygiene certificate is essential.
• Experience in cooking both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
• Ability to cook for dine-in and take-away customers.
• Kitchen management and food ordering experience.
• Good personal hygiene and grooming.

• Managing kitchen operations.
• Maintaining and supervising standards of service quality and food safety.
• Supervision and training of junior staff.

• Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals, as and when required.
• Provide special dietary requirements where necessary, and take into account the preferences of individual clients.
• Liaise with the manager when planning menus in order to provide a balanced nutritious diet.
• Arrange / participate in Staff and Client meetings as required.
• Maintain accurate records of food supplies and freezer/fridge temperatures.
• Ensure stock rotation. Order stocks and check deliveries and check and value stocks as requested by the manager.
• Prepare Staff rota for Kitchen.
• Interview new staff member with manager when required.
• Supervise and train Kitchen Staff members.
• Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
• Attend mandatory training days/courses when required.
• Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained.
