Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role The Senior HR Advisor - Kaitohutohu Matua Pūmanawa Tangata sits within our People Operations function which is part of a larger People and Wellbeing team.
This role is responsible for engaging with People Leaders to understand their HR needs and requirements on an ongoing basis so that solutions can be tailored and fit for purpose. Core role requirements include: Providing expert and timely advice on complex people management issues, across the full range of HR functions as well as education and coaching on HR legislation, policies and leading practice.
Lead and support on HR processes and project work as required. Working collaboratively with the wider People and Wellbeing team to deliver services and achieve operational alignment between functions within the team.. Delivery of support services to other customer groups as required.
Lead implementation of People & Wellbeing initiatives and projects including wellbeing, health and safety. Develop strong and enduring relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Ō pūmanawa | About You You will be an experienced, motivated and resilient Senior HR Advisor who aims to deliver a positive customer experience.
As a trusted advisor and team player you make a difference and get things done. To succeed in this role, you will have the following skills and experience: Strong HR legislative knowledge and experience providing a range of general HR advice to People Leaders e.g., Remuneration, Health and Safety, Change Management and other employment relations experience is a must.
Experience delivering independent pieces of HR project work as well as working collaboratively across HR and business teams. Experience in successfully dealing with complex ER, managing cases involving performance, behaviours, mental health and return to work plans.
An understanding of government processes such as responding to OIAs, PQs, working with data and providing insights and commentary on a wide range of HR reports and research. An understanding and or exposure to risk, privacy, compliance and internal audits or similar functions.
Excellent communication skills including an ability to explain complex problems, develop succinct and accurate reports, deliver presentations and to lead discussions across the organisation. The ability to research and think independently and to drive outcomes.
Demonstrable relationship management skills; and The ability to operate in a changeable and complex environment.
