Accountant

We are looking for an in-house Financial Accountant with Business Advisory expertise to join our team. We have a part-time opportunity available for an employee or contractor on the Kapiti Coast.

• Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with accounting principles and standards.
• Complete income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, trusts and charitable trusts.
• Complete statutory required resolutions and minutes for a range of entities.
• Conduct thorough reviews of financial records to identify opportunities and optimising tax efficiency.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience in preparing financial statements/reporting, income tax returns and statutory requirements.
• Business Advisory Services experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards and tax regulations together with NZ IRD tax requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills.
• Confident and forward-thinking individual.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software MYOB, Xero and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
