Passive Fire Installer

• Install passive fire protection systems, including fire stopping (penetrations – pipes, cables, ducts, etc.).
• Install fire-rated walls, ceilings, and compartmentation.
• Apply intumescent coatings and structural protection.
• Seal penetrations to prevent fire and smoke spread and maintain fire ratings.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and fire engineering details.
• Carry out reinstatement works (linings, insulation, seals, barriers).
• Complete QA documentation, photo records, and compliance tagging.
• Identify defects/non-compliance and complete remedial works.
• Coordinate with other trades to ensure smooth installs around services.
• Maintain high standards of health & safety on site.

• Background in passive fire, fire stopping, or construction trades, OR strong transferable trade experience including glazing/aluminium joinery, GIB fixing, stopping, or interior finishing trades, carpentry or drylining, electrical trade assistants (ETA) or service-based install roles.
• Ability to read plans and follow technical specs.
• Strong attention to detail (small penetrations = big compliance risk).
• Confident using hand and power tools.
• Physically fit and comfortable working on active construction sites.
• Able to work independently or as part of a crew.

• NZ Certificate in Fire Protection Systems (Level 3 or 4) OR relevant trade background.
• Site Safe certification.
• Full driver’s licence.
