WHAT DOES A DECONTAMINATION TECHNICIAN DO?
It's hands-on, fast-paced, and genuinely impactful. Helping turn unsafe, contaminated environments back into safe spaces for people and communities. As a Decontamination Technician at CSS, this is not your average cleaning job!
  • Be on the frontline of disaster relief and remediation, responding when people need help most.
  • Work on rapid-response teams, attending urgent, often high-priority callouts.
  • Operate in a dynamic and ever-changing work environment.
  • Actively contribute to health and safety development, helping to maintain industry-leading standards.
  • Undertake specialist safety and technical training to build highly sought-after skills.
  • Play a key role in creating safer spaces for homes, businesses and communities.

  • Assist in developing and delivering remediation plans to restore unsafe environments
WORK HOURS:

Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (depending on the job), with some overtime and after-hours callouts on a rotational basis, including weekends. You are guaranteed a minimum of 30 paid hours per week, but typically you will work 40 hours.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • An aptitude with hand tools (possibly a construction or handyman background)
  • NZ Full Drivers License
  • A good grasp of the English language and the ability to communicate well
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Dedicated and reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Keen to join a company that cares about what we do
  • Willingness to learn
  • Good physical health and fitness to handle heavy work while wearing a respirator (this position is not suited to individuals who smoke/vape)
  • Strong team player mentality (show up, contribute and work safely)

Prior asbestos removal experience, experience and/or an aptitude with hand tools, handyman or construction roles will be highly regarded. We prioritise a willingness to learn, follow instructions, and give your best effort. If you are dedicated, reliable, and have a strong work ethic, you can thrive in this role as a Decontamination Technician, even without previous experience.

The ideal candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test and be willing to undergo random drug tests throughout employment.
