The Vision and Hearing Technician is responsible for provision of Vision and Hearing screening services within Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau DistrictAbout the ServiceThe National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.About youYou are experienced or are prepared to undertake training in the field of vision and/or hearing, and can relate well with children and their families.
You have a strong interest in child health and can advocate for children and the families of those who access the Vision and Hearing Screening Service. You're able to provide appropriate health education and vision and hearing related health issues and maintain accurate client records.Background in Health and/or EducationMinimum 3 years secondary schoolExperience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in actionCurrent Full Drivers LicenceThe ability to work in a collaborative manner with a wide variety of personnelPatience and empathy in handling and caring for young babies and new parentsStrong commitment to qualityEffective time management skills to complete workload within given timeframesAbility to record accurately and legiblyWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
